Writer and Editor specialising in International Development, Politics and Economics

About Me

Jenny Kimmis

I am a freelance writer and editor specialising in communicating research and knowledge on economic and social development. My approach is to communicate complex ideas in a clear and engaging way.

I have more than ten years’ experience working in international development. Before turning freelance in 2004, I worked as a researcher at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, as a policy adviser for Oxfam GB, and as an analyst for a Mexican bank in the UK.

Communicating knowledge and ideas has always been my focus. I have written and edited books, journal articles, reports, policy briefs, summaries, conference proceedings, newsletters and media releases.

I have a BA Honours in History, Politics and Spanish and an MPhil in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. I continue to develop my writing and editing skills through courses at the Publishing Training Centre in the UK and membership of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
